Bobs and Lolo (aka Robyn Hardy and Lorraine Pond) are performing at Surrey's Canada Day and the Surrey Children's Festival. Bobs and Lolo are dedicated to connecting children to the natural world through music, movement and make-believe.

Their shows inspire and educate kids to care about themselves, their neighbours and the planet.

Joe Given is a 15 year old singer, songwriter and performer from Surrey, BC. He's won numerous awards as a solo artist and enjoys a wide variety of genres, old and new.

Joe has performed at well over 120 events over the past few years, including the opening of Holland Park, The Arts Council of Surrey's 40th Anniversary and the Mayor and Council's Volunteer Appreciation Dinner.

Pat Chessell, a solo artist from Vancouver, BC who has made quite a name for himself on the Western Canadian music scene. Pat has opened for such acts at The Brent Lee Band and The Town Pants and has played his own shows in some of Vancouver’s hottest nightclubs such as Doolins Irish Pub, The Limerick Junction, The Roxy, Roosters and many more. Heavily influenced by acts such as the Johnny Cash, The Clancy Brothers, Pogues and Blue Rodeo, he has gained a strong, loyal fanbase due to his exceptional acoustic guitar playing, warm, passionate vocals and his [often downright funny] stage presence.

His music has led him to be a teacher of guitar, a composer, and a singer, He is now focusing on jazz stylings, adapts pop tunes, handles classical music and Spanish style. Silk Road’s performance features traditional instrumental pieces, original compositions and Chinese folk songs, arranged for cross-cultural instrumentation, and performed in both English and Mandarin by duets from both cultures. The music is truly accessible to people of all cultures. In addition to its artistic strengths, Silk Road’s music is also a remarkable window into Chinese culture.

Silk Road Music is one of the few Chinese touring ensembles in North America to have performed at all the major festivals in Canada. Kutapira, Vancouver's unique five-peice percussion MARIMBA band comes to the market this week! Born out of a forward-thinking educational initiative introducing youth to global rhythms, formed in 2005 through a Canada Council program matching professional artists and students, Kutapira have hardly had a chance to reflect on their achievements. Through the motivation and mentoring of Artistic Director, Jack Duncan and percussion maestro, Myles Bigelow, the group is forging new links between the traditions of Zimbabwe’s marimba music and the rhythmic soul of Afro Cuban drumming. Kai Buchan, Jeremy Bryant, Sangito Bigelow, Chris Couto and Theo Vincent are all fluent in both disciplines; rotating through their battery of soprano, tenor and baritone marimbas and trading licks on the drum kit, timbales and hand drums. July 16 - Jennifer Kennedy

Jennifer is a singer-songwriter with a beautiful and compelling voice coupled with intense guitar playing.

In 2006, she recorded a solo, acoustic 5 song EP. That didn’t feel like enough so from Jan 2007 - present, she recorded an acoustic debut CD with friends which is in the finishing stages The CD is called No Casual Goodbyes.

Their music has been described as foot stompin, rockin,rustic-roots, country, folk and blues. Hailing from White Rock, brothers Brian and Bob Sumner have garnered an incredible amount of attention for the short amount of time they have been on the scene.

They have been placed on a compilation album with the likes of The Be Good Tanyas, Jolie Holland, and Sean Hayes.

Samantha Parton of The Be Good Tanyas has called The Sumner Brothers her "new favorite band".

Michael Leahy of the "cool as folk" radio show in Davis California has placed them in the "upper echelon of B.C. songwriters".
